
Tangled Land (Prototype 1)

Tangled Land — is an experimental surrealist adventure game set on a mysterious, secluded island.
The environment is filled with abandoned structures, quiet forests, and an unsettling feeling of being watched by a mysterious stranger who always remains just one step ahead.
This Prototype 1 is a technical and gameplay showcase focused on core traversal mechanics, and environmental lighting.
Key Gameplay Features in Prototype 1:
- Ledge Climbing & Vaulting: Fluid mantle and ledge-hanging mechanics built using custom Unreal Engine Blueprints.
- Bar Swinging: Interactive swinging elements for vertical exploration and traversal puzzles.


- Ambient Navigation: Atmospheric lighting that subtly guides the player without relying on artificial UI markers or mini-maps.
- Greybox Level Architecture: Pure focus on spatial layout, verticality, and pacing before visual polish.

Note:
This build represents my initial iteration in developing original game systems and level architecture from scratch in Unreal Engine. It reflects my approach to greyboxing, movement tuning, and atmospheric world-building.

The movement already feels good, and I can definitely see the potential for a much more complex climbing system. It's a great proof of concept, and you've built a solid base to expand on.
